First Place registered Novice: Robin Untiet. Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Shoot on May 7th. Many club members worked all day and never got to shoot. It is only with their help that we can sustain these events. So, Thank You. And a special thank you to The Steak Out on Daniel Plummer Road for donating the prizes and Vickster's Pizza on Main Street for donating lunch pizzas. Please, let's all remember these donations and patronize these folks. We had slightly fewer shooters than last year, but participants shot a lot and had a great day! We did not finish until 3:30. Below is a PDF with the full results.

Thank you to all who brought food. It was very kind and unexpected and very much appreciated.
Thanks again to everyone who participated.

<![CDATA[FAST & SIMPLE SUNDAY SHOOT]]>Wed, 12 Apr 2017 18:50:20 GMThttp://goffstownfishandgame.com/1/post/2017/04/fast-simplesundayshoot.htmlThis is kind of last minute, we do apologize for that, but we thought we would throw together a three gun shoot to let you guys and gals shake off the doldrums of winter and try a few new toys the club bought. It is nothing fancy, fast shooting and simple to set up. You do not have to shoot all three disciplines but we encourage you to try. (The actual shoot may change slightly to accommodate shooters, weather, etc.)

Theme for Shoot:
A simple combat shooting course for the handgun, fast but simple combat / target rifle shoot and finally a round of clay targets for the shotgun.

The shoot will be held at the Goffstown Fish & Game Association facility on Melvin Valley Rd. in Weare NH.

Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 9 AM to end (3pm latest.) If weather is doubtful, please check our website to see if the shoot has been canceled.

There are NO prizes to be given out but you get bragging rights for overall match winner and individual matches.

Cost of the match is a flat fee of $30.00. Your fee includes all three matches as outlined in the PDF linked below and a lunch of pizza. You do not have to shoot all three matches but the cost remains the same.

Free coffee all day. Food will be served, and the cost is included in your entry fee. Non-shooters will pay a nominal fee for the food. We will get a head count of people who are going to eat and order pizzas for lunch around noonish. If you do not like pizza, bring your grub.

Safety starts with the gray matter between our ears. PLEASE THINK SAFETY!* All firearms and ammunition must meet equipment requirements and be safe to use!* All range safety rules and commands must be obeyed immediately.* All firing will cease immediately on the command to “Cease Fire”.* Any participants or spectator can call a “Cease Fire” if they should see an unsafe situation. *All participants and spectators must wear eye and ear protection.

<![CDATA[Barry Conservation 4-H Camp and Dan Gauthier Memorial Sponsorship]]>Tue, 31 Jan 2017 21:52:23 GMThttp://goffstownfishandgame.com/1/post/2017/01/barry-conservation-4-h-camp-and-dan-gauthier-memorial-sponsorship.html
Please note that the deadline for Camp Barry applications is March 30, 2017.

Youth - Hunter Education Camp
Dan Gauthier Memorial Sponsorship

The GOFFSTOWN FISH AND GAME ASSOCIATION, in memory of Dan Gauthier, would like to send a youth to the Barry Conservation Camp for a one week Hunter Education session this summer.

Applicants must be between the ages of 12 -16 at the time of the camp session and live in the Goffstown, Weare, and New Boston regional area. Only applicants that have not already received hunter education certificates from NH can apply. Transportation to and from the camp is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Sponsorship will be awarded based on the content of the application.

Barry Conservation camp is conducted jointly by the UNH Cooperative Extension, NH Fish and Game Department and the NH 4-H Camps. Barry Conservation Camp is located in the White Mountain National Forest at the Berlin Fish Hatchery. Nearby York Pond offers swimming and canoeing for the camp. Five cabins house up to seven campers with a counselor in each.

Hunter Education July 23-28, 2017 Ages 12-16

Join NH Fish and Game Department Hunter Education staff, volunteer instructors and camp counselors to learn and practice safe, responsible and ethical hunting. Campers will learn wildlife identification, conservation and management; take part in a live fire exercise with rifles and shotguns; explore the outdoors through a map, compass and overnight survival challenge; help prepare wild game for table; and participate in a friendly skills challenge at the conclusion of camp.

In 2009, we were saddened by the loss of our dear friend and fellow club member, Dan Gauthier. Dan was an active member of the Goffstown Fish & Game Association for decades, and had served as Secretary for over 25 years. Dan was also active as a Chief Instructor for Hunter Education. In his memory, the Association has established the Dan Gauthier Memorial Sponsorship to send one young person per year to the Barry Conservation Camp in Berlin, NH.

Applications March 30 March 2017. Information and application:

<![CDATA[Shoot Results]]>Mon, 23 Jan 2017 02:50:52 GMThttp://goffstownfishandgame.com/1/post/2017/01/shoot-results.htmlHi folks:

Thanks to all of you who attended the I Froze My Butt Off 2017 shoot. Many of you attended just to work and help out, and that helps more than you know. The number of shooters is increasing and with that, the support requirements increase. Thanks to all who brought food etc. It is a big part of the attraction. Everyone seemed to have fun, definitely our priority. Thank you again for supporting the shoot.

The cold weather really raised havoc with the .22's. Guns that normally function flawlessly jammed incessantly. And, of course, our fingers were not working real well either. But, with all that said, shooters rose to the occasion and performed admirably. Once again, we had NO safety issues, the fire warmed us, and shooters shared wisdom and equipment. We need to thank Kinnicum Fish And Game for the use of their traps. What great machines they were!

It was cold, we introduced something new, shotgun, and required shooters to switch shooting positions between relays. And they still shot well. The course was simple but the time was challenging. SO congratulations to all who participated. If you enjoyed it, tell your friends. If you did not, tell us. We want to see even more of you next time. Please share any feedback or suggestions.

Attached are the results. Lowest total score wins. Please share, we do not have all shooters emails.
